Students may enter the program in Fall, Spring or Summer Semester.
The Department of World Languages & Cultures offers an Undergraduate Certificate of Language Ability as a credential for students that provides tangible proof of their world language abilities in oral and written communication. The certificate serves as an ideal complement to a major in other areas of study including business, international relations, public healthy, criminal justice and hospitality.
The certificate program is open to any student at Georgia State pursuing an undergraduate degree, including heritage speakers.

The Undergraduate Certificate of Language Ability is open to any Georgia State University student who is pursuing an undergraduate degree.

The certificate consists of 12 credit hours at 2000 and 3000 level (minimum of 6 must be at the 3000 level), with a B or higher in the first attempt at each course. Courses retaken using the university Repeat to Replace policy are not counted as first attempts.
A minimum of 6 credit hours at the 3000-level and a maximum 6 credits of elective requirements may be taken through a study abroad program.
