Cognitive Sciences, Teaching, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Course Design and Coordination for Introduction to General Psychology (PSYC 1101)

With a background in animal learning and behavior, my interests in psychology are rooted in the cognitive sciences. In my role as a lecturer in the Department of Psychology, my focus is primarily teaching. I often teach Introduction to General Psychology (PSYC 1101) and serve as the course coordinator in the department, Advanced Research Methods & Analysis (PSYC 3530), Cognitive Psychology (PSYC 4100) and Learning (PSYC 4120) and Cross-Cultural Psychology (PSYC 4030).

Outside of the classroom, I have developed a study abroad program in Cross-Cultural Cognition (PSYC 4650 or 6650) in which we explore differences and similarities in thinking in Japan.
Beyond course-related learning, my research interests apply many of the same topic areas. As a researcher, I continually seek feedback from students on their study habits and investigate their learning efforts both in and out of the classroom.
