Research Interests
The scholarly work of the Georgia State Reading Research team has focused on the neurobiological and neurocognitive factors that impact developing cognitive, learning and language systems in typically developing children and adults, and those with atypical development or acquired neurological disorders (including dyslexia, ADHD, SLI, and alexia). Our current projects utilize neuroimaging and neuromodulation techniques to investigate the neural correlates of reading and language. This includes an ongoing intervention study focused on studying treatment outcomes of adults with persistent dyslexia and reading disabilities focused on using neuromodulation in combination with reading instruction to improve reading skills.
