Neil Van Leeuwen received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Stanford University in 2007. He specializes in philosophy of mind and cognitive science. His work has been published in notable venues, including Journal of Philosophy, Cognition, Philosophical Studies and Cognitive Science. He is a recipient of the European Commission's Marie Curie Fellowship. In November 2023, Harvard University Press released his monograph, entitled Religion as Make-Believe: A Theory of Belief, Imagination, and Group Identity.
