Marty Mukasa has been with the anthropology department at Georgia State University since 2009. As the Administrative Coordinator for the department, Marty:

. Works with students and faculty to ensure enrollment in courses
. Maintains incoming and current student files
. Coordinates new faculty searches
. Manages the departmental website and social media accounts
. Creates and maintains departmental newsletters and other marketing publications
. Maintains the public profile of the department within the university and in outside professional organizations
. Manages the course schedule for upcoming semesters
. Manages book orders through the University Bookstore
. Maintains the department Lending Library and ethnographic equipment
. Assists faculty with administrative requests
. Interfaces with the public and other university personnel
. Interfaces with technology personnel (IT) for departmental needs
. Interfaces with departmental alumni
. Orders supplies
. Manages special events planning
. Manages access to restricted anthropology labs and private spaces

Marty loves animals and enjoys taking care of them. Past pets have included dogs, cats, tortoises, a hedgehog named Simba, Alexander the rat, and Smokey the lop-eared bunny.
