For more than 25 years, Louise Gobron has been teaching international students in university-based intensive English programs in Perth, Western Australia, San Diego and Atlanta. Prior to joining the ALESL faculty at GSU, she served as a Senior English Fellow for the US State Department, conducting teacher training seminars in Crimea and throughout Ukraine. Her teacher training experience at GSU includes the AL 8900 graduate Practicum in ESL/EFL teaching and the development and co-direction of the Maymester TEFL in China study abroad program. She served on the Fulbright National Screening Committee from 2012-14 and presently advises applicants for Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships as a member of the university’s Fulbright Advisory Committee. In addition, she serves as a Site Reviewer for the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. She has also been a frequent presenter at international, national and regional conferences. Ms. Gobron received her M.A. in Applied Linguistics/TESL from Georgia State University in 2000 and her MBA from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management in 1985.
