Evolutionary psychology; Developmental psychology; Undergraduate research mentoring

As a lecturer at Georgia State, my primary responsibility is teaching. I typically teach Introduction to General Psychology (PSYC 1101), Advanced Research Design and Statistical Analysis (PSYC 3530), and Developmental Psychology (PSYC 4040).

I design my classes to be engaging, interesting, relevant, and challenging- while still supporting my students so they can succeed in learning the material. Knowing that many students will not enter academia, I tailor my courses so that it can be relevant to every student, regardless of their academic and career goals. To achieve this, the classes go beyond only teaching content to giving students opportunities to learn how to think critically, regardless of content.

I am also the co-coordinator of Undergraduate Research of the Psychology department, alongside Dr. P. Douglas Sellers. In this role, I get to relay my passion for research to undergraduates who may be interested in pursuing research within the psychology department. It also allows me to learn more about the benefits of undergraduate research for student success.

My personal research interests are generally in the realm of evolutionary developmental psychology, namely how adult humans respond to physically and cognitively immature features in babies.
