- Biography
Jennie Parker has taught English as a second language since 2005 in various contexts, including universities, community English programs, and private coaching. She began her career at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2003, first in the role of instructional technologist at the Center for Teaching and Learning and then as a lecturer at the Language Institute. She has also taught English and conducted teacher training in Turkey and in Chile, the latter on a Fulbright Scholarship, and has served on the U.S. Student Fulbright National Screening Committee. Jennie has led numerous instructor training workshops and has presented at local and international TESOL conferences on topics related to computer-assisted language learning and curriculum design.
Currently serving as a lecturer in GSU's Intensive English Program, Jennie teaches academic English to international students, mentors both pre-service and in-service instructors, and engages in special projects, including curriculum development for the Community-Based Academic English Program in Clarkston. Her pedagogical philosophy centers on the crucial role of English language education in empowering learners to achieve their full potential.
