Dr. Duong’s primary research interests include health communication, social marketing, and social influence in health contexts. He is particularly interested in research that advances the understanding of how social norms and risk perceptions are formed and influence health behaviors, and how communication interventions could leverage people’s desirable behavioral changes. Prior to academia, Dr. Duong worked with various international NGOs and UNICEF to support children and people living in war-torn communities in Southeast Asia. He helped build Project RENEW - an NGO that works to coordinate landmine clearance activities, war survivor assistance initiatives, and community resettlement programs in Vietnam. Dr. Duong is a former Fulbright scholar.
