- Biography
Erika Menard is the current Assistant Director of Grants and Contracts, Pre-Award for the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia State University. Before joining the ranks at GSU, Erika began her research administration legacy by working as an undergraduate student worker on various research projects for Texas A&M University.
After graduation and a career in teaching, Erika moved on to become the Comparative Medicine Program Small Animal Division Coordinator, where she oversaw approximately 9,000 small animals used in research at Texas A&M. While in Galveston, she worked at the University of Texas Medical Branch as the Research Development Coordinator/Grants and Contracts Specialist III for the Biomolecular Resource Facility under Dr. Alexander Kurosky.
A move to Louisiana found her working for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she began as the inaugural College Research Coordinator for both the College of Sciences and the College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions (now UL Lafayette LHC Group – Myers School of Nursing). Erika promoted to the Pre-Award Grants Specialist for both colleges, as well as numerous other centers and departments, and eventually finished her career of more than five years at UL Lafayette as a Senior Pre-Award Grants Specialist. Stanford University recruited Erika to become the School of Medicine’s Neurology and Neurosurgery Pre-Award Research Development Manager, prior to Georgia State University.
