- Biography
Alan Swirsky completed his PhD in Literary Studies at Georgia State University in July 2023 with a focus on twentieth- and twenty-first-century American literature. He holds an MA in Literature from Georgia Southern University, and a BA in Literature from Florida State University. Throughout a decade of teaching, Alan has developed a proactive stance toward facilitating the department’s pedagogical mission and engaging students through a variety of instructional modalities. He has served as an Assistant Director in the First Year Writing Program and helped foster healthy mentorship relations and feedback sessions with graduate teaching assistants, and he served on the Undergraduate Studies Committee, generating new policies and best practices for the department’s 2000-level literature courses.
