Degree Seeking Students
What is Pre-Health/Pre-Med?
- Pre-Health/Pre-Med: Seeking admission to a health professional program upon completion of a baccalaureate degree.
- This term also implies that you are embarking on a specific course of study and gaining experience outside the classroom aimed at preparing you to be a qualified and well-rounded candidate.
- Individuals who have an inner “call” or sense of responsibility to become caregivers to those who need health assistance and direction.
Post-Baccalaureate Students
What does it mean to be a Postbaccalaureate (post-bacc) student at Georgia State?
This admission type is for those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree and want to take more undergraduate-level courses without pursuing another degree. Students interested in admissions to pre-health professional programs take classes as a post-bac student to either fulfill prerequisite course requirements or to raise their GPA to become more competitive applicants or both. There is no prescribed curriculum for students wanting to pursue a pre-health program. Students can take as many classes as they want based on their goals.
