GSU Clinical Practicum Evaluation
Students participating in practicum training are evaluated with regard to their attainment of core professional competencies at various stages of their professional development: apprentice, beginning clinician, mid-level clinician, and advanced level clinician.
Areas of assessed competencies include professionalism, clinical skill, and the application of science in practice. This evaluation form identifies these specific competencies and delineates operational behaviors that assist in assessing the trainee’s demonstration of these competencies. The evaluator is to consider the student’s current training status/level identified on the front of this form (e.g., apprentice, beginning clinician, mid-level clinician, advanced level clinician) and assess whether her/ his performance is at the expected level of development for each of the ten competencies.
It is the aspiration of this assessment to capture the strengths and weaknesses of the trainee’s emerging competencies and provide nuanced feedback to the trainee to support his/her efforts to advance professional development.
