Freshmen may choose from three different orientation formats. Each orientation format includes the same information but is structured differently. Students who attend a One-Day or Freshman / Transfer combined session must schedule any required placement exams before orientation. Freshmen are required to attend orientation in full, and allowances cannot be made for students to leave early. There is a registration fee for all students, which covers meals and other expenses. The fee is not covered by scholarships or financial aid. Each student may register up to two guests, and each additional person is required to pay a separate registration fee.
Freshman One-Day Orientation This orientation option includes a a full day of activities designed for incoming freshmen and their guests. Schedule Orientation Check-In runs from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The opening orientation session begins at 9 a.m., and the program continues throughout the day, concluding around 5 p.m.
Freshman / Transfer Express Orientation This orientation option includes a half day of activities. It's open to: incoming transfer students; freshmen who are starting classes in the fall semester but were unable to attend orientation in May, June or July; and incoming students starting classes in the spring or summer semesters. Schedule Check the orientation schedule to find out which sessions are held in the morning and which are held in the afternoon. For sessions held in the morning, Orientation Check-In runs from 8:30 to 9 a.m. The opening orientation session begins at 9 a.m., and the program continues throughout the morning, concluding around 12:30 p.m. For sessions held in the afternoon, Orientation Check-In runs from 11 to 11:30 a.m. The opening orientation session begins at 11:30 a.m., and the program continues throughout the afternoon, concluding around 3 p.m.
