The Board of Visitors is a select group of alumni, parents of alumni and friends of the college.
Board members work together to support both specific programs and the College as a whole – and to recruit and inspire others to do the same. They are invaluable ambassadors from the College to the community.
Michelle Arrington Carolina
earned her Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University in 1992. She has been an Executive Pharmaceutical Sales Representative with GlaxoSmithKline in Atlanta, Georgia since 2004. Michelle has been committed to the community as a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Chautauqua Circle, and as Treasurer for the Board of Directors for the Community Investment Network.
is the founder of InspectAll, a software company that enables enterprises to manage workplace safety and health. His latest endeavor is Dotted Labs, a company that designs and manufactures sensor-driven, connectable industrial equipment. Daniel serves on the board of directors for Ace Industries in Atlanta, GA and Stren-Flex in Greenville, SC. He and his wife, Anne, have two children.
attended Georgia State University, graduating in August 1998 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. A retired UPS executive, he currently serves on the Georgia State University Foundation Board of Trustees, and is the former Board President of Theatrical Outfit.
graduated from Georgia State in 1968 with a B.A. in Philosophy and went on to earn M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Folklore and Folklife Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. There she became interested in amateur radio and became active at the local and national level. In 2010 she was elected president of the American Radio Relay League, Inc., the national association for amateur radio in the United States. Kay currently resides in Blacksburg, Virginia with her husband Carter.
graduated from Georgia State with a M.A. in History in 1979, and went on to receive her Ph.D. in History in 1987. Carolyn is the founder of Women Alone Together, a non-profit that offers seminars, book groups, travel opportunities and fellowship to older, single women.
earned his M.A. in political science from Georgia State is 1998. He is currently director of Governmental Affairs for the Georgia Municipal Association. His office is responsible for representing the needs of city governments — from Adel to Zebulon — at the Georgia State Capitol. Prior to GMA, Tom worked under two lieutenant governors as the Senior Policy Analyst for the Georgia Senate Research Office. In that role, he served as the lead staff person for the Senate Natural Resources and Environment Committee, the Senate Transportation Committee, and the State and Local Governmental Operations Committee.
earned her Masters of Business Administration in Management from Georgia State in 1998. Kimberly is a director for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where she leads large scale healthcare technology and transformation projects.
graduated from Georgia State in 1997 with a B.A. in Religious Studies from the Department of Philosophy. He is currently co-owner of a family import business, which involves regular trips to manufacturers throughout Asia. He is involved with several non-profit organizations and currently serves on the Alumni Advisory Board for the Department of Religious Studies at Georgia State as well as the Sierra Club Georgia Chapter’s Walraven Council. He lives in Roswell with his wife, Gillian, and their two children, Georgia and Jack.
Carol Rowe Jones
graduated from Spelman College; Atlanta, GA with a B.A. in Gerontology and with further study earned a Certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University. She is the founder of Senior Information Network, Inc., a non-profit that provides health and service information that will enhance the quality of life issues for seniors throughout metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. Currently Carol is a Program Specialist for Gwinnett County Senior Services and serves on the Board of the Georgia Gerontology Society (GGS). She is a member of Victory World Church in Norcross, GA.
graduated from Georgia State with a B.A. in German. Currently, Rita is an Associate Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual Financial. She has been awarded the Northwestern Mutual Community Service Award for her outstanding dedication to volunteerism. The award benefitted Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of American. Recently, she has become invested in the Georgia State Women’s Philanthropy Initiative.
Helen deGolian Neely,
best known as Butchie, is a talented artist and community volunteer; including serving as a tour guide for the Atlanta Beltline Partnership. Butchie began her education at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA, and completed her B.F.A. in Studio Art in 2002 at Georgia State University. Her husband is Alan S. Neely, chairman of the Georgia Trust for Public Land Advisory Board and retired executive with Korn/Ferry International.They are members of the Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta.
was recently elected president and CEO of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. A former BellSouth executive, he serves the university on the GSU Foundation Board of Trustees, and has his B.A. in Journalism and M.C.O. from Georgia State.
earned a B.A. in English in 1971 from Ga. State and a J.D. from Mercer University in 1974. He held various legal and management positions with the Regional Telephone Company, Ameritech, including President and CEO of Indiana Bell; President, Product Management at Ameritech, and, Sr. VP State and Govt. Affairs at Ameritech. He retired as Sr. VP Public Policy. After retirement he served for eight years as a Business Management Professor at The Lake Forest Graduate School of Business.
graduated from Georgia State 1989 with a B.A. in Political Science. He has worked as a Tax Accountant with several large Atlanta based companies and is currently the Director of Property and Transaction Taxes at AGL Resources.
graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a B.A. in English Literature in 1989. His professional career has involved Banking, Trust and Investments and he is currently managing a Banking Software Support and Implementation Team for Fiserv, Inc.
