Allison Georgescu
Allison Georgescu is a sophomore Honors student majoring in Chemistry. She is a NCR scholar and recipient of the Zell Miller Scholarship. Her goal is to obtain a Pharm.D. and work as a clinical pharmacist. Allison currently works in Dr. Roberta Attanasio’s laboratory studying the effects of 2-naphthol as a possible obesogen. Daphnia magna, commonly known as the water flea, is used as a test organism. Experiments involve treating daphnia with different concentrations of 2-naphthol and monitoring lipid development, life fitness, and reproductive ability. She has presented this work at the 2017 Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC). Allison is looking forward to participating in a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in the summer of 2018.
