Assistant professor wins grant from National Geographic Society

Chris Morehart, of Georgia State University's Department of Anthropology, has been awarded the highly competitive National Geographic Society Research Grant for his project, titled "Between Two Empires: Sacrifice, Community, and Power in the Basin of Mexico during the Epiclassic Period." The National Geographic Society awards grants for scientific field research and exploration that have both a geographical dimension and relevance to other scientific fields and are of broad scientific interest.


Morehart's interests include ecological anthropology, political economy, gender relations, archaeology, Mesoamerica, and Latin America.
