College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Art Award: Past Winners
The Dean’s Art Award recognizes student achievement in the field of visual arts and allows the Dean’s Office to directly connect with the student body through the award submission and selection process. For this award, students submit their own works of visual art to a selection committee comprised of faculty and student leadership in the Ernest G. Welch School of Design and the Dean’s Office. The committee welcomes submissions from all students (undergraduate and graduate) in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Benefits for students include CV and resumé building, the opportunity to have their works showcased to the broad variety of visitors to the Dean’s Office, and experience with collaborative, juried art-selection processes.
Added advantages to the College include the ability to foster a link to the student body through visual arts, the potential for building relationships with alumni and other parties with an interest in promoting visual arts support at GSU, and the opportunity to showcase a large variety of student visual artworks that rotate annually.
Several past winners of the Dean’s Art Award have been able to successfully sell their artwork after it was exhibited in the Dean’s Office.
