Theatre and Film Studies

Students in the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) program in Theatre learn about theatre as a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural art form. The Theatre program brings together a wide variety of courses that reflect the diversity of theatre around the world and offers concentrations in Performance Studies and in Design and Production. The B.I.S. prepares students for professional theatre careers while also opening up opportunities in creative writing, interior design, film, and other fields.

Students in the Communication Department’s Film and Video program at Georgia State learn to become critical producers and consumers of film, television, and new media.

The  interdisciplinary perspective taught by respected scholars and award-winning mediamakers in Film and Video is ideal for preparing students for careers in several different media, including film/video production, writing for the media, management for media businesses, and teaching.
